These cartridges are rated for 2000 pages at 5% coverage (5% coverage is a standard spec for any laser printer). My Samsung ML-1630 currently shows a total page count of 2788. Printing a diagnostic page revealed that the current cartridge in my printer, a genuine Samsung cartridge, shows a page count of 1935 (see note below), despite which the pages being printed with this cartridge are still printing rich and dark. It's possible that I might get a little more than the rated number of pages out of each cartridge. I'm a writer and my manuscript pages are all printed double-spaced, which, I'm sure, is less than 5% coverage. That said, I recently filled three 4-inch(!) binders with three reams (1500 pages) of training material, all printed with a single cartridge -- each page was single-spaced, not double-spaced, and also included some graphics.
NOTE: Starter cartridges are good for about 750-1000 pages. Indeed, my starter cartridge printed 853 pages (2788 - 1935 = 853).

We purchased this toner cartridge from Ritz Camera as a spare for a Samsung SCX-4500 printer. We replaced the cartridge when the original was empty. After replacing the cartridge, the printer still indicated the toner was low (and the print quality was very poor). I opened a claim with Samsung and received approval to bring the copier to a repair center. The Samsung repair center said that the copier is fine, but the chip in the new toner cartridge indicates it is empty. Of course, because some time had elapsed, Ritz said they wouldn't exchange it.
I won't say this is a scam, but I won't buy anything from Ritz again. I would suggest upon receiving your new cartridge, install it immediately and test it by holding down the stop button, a printout will show the amount of usage on the cartridge. If there is a problem you only have a 30 day return window. If you want to repack it to keep as a spare, keep it in the black bag as it is sensitive to light.

I own a Samsung SCX-4500. It was very easy to change the cartridge. The first page printed with the new cartridge looked great. No problems whatsoever. I cannot comment on how long the toner will last, but the last one lasted for a very long time!

Since I bought the Samsung SCX 4500 all in one laser printer, I am locked into the print cartridge it seems. I have had the printer for about a year and just bought my 3rd print cartridge. I don't use it for work just home stuff. I think it is rated at 2000 copies but I don't think it gets that at all. I had an HP 1300 for almost 10 years in which I bought about 3 print cartridges, so something doesn't add up very well.
Samsung product management probably thinks it has an easy way to make more profit with a locked in market. This will be the last print cartridge I buy as when this one is done, I will be giving the printer away and going back to HP.
